US Soccer got a miracle in beating the Egyptians 3-0 and having the Italians lose 3-0 to Brazil. Egypt is a good looking soccer team. They are the African champions and play smart soccer. They looked very good against Italy.
After the win against Egypt, one US soccer player essentially said that the US critics should shut their mouths because the US advanced. Beating Egypt was the worst possible result for the Americans. If they lost, maybe there would have been a ground swell attitude of major change. With the unlikely, actually first time ever, result, we’re likely to get strung along with the same group. I am a frustrated supporter of this team. They are soft. They play like a high school team. If they beat Spain, that will be cool. I still don’t think they are going to get anywhere long term with the current group of players. We have 300+ million people in our great country. Can we not find 11 soccer players to compete on the world stage?
