Crude Oil Prices

Keep a very close eye on crude oil barrel prices. They higher they go, the more likely our recession will continue. There is no way we, in a recessionary economy,  can withstand high gas prices. Americans live paycheck to paycheck. We don’t save money. We spend it. If we have less money to spend because gas prices are high, the economy suffers. Businesses suffer because products and services have to rise to account for higher shipping and delivery costs. Lots of products are made with petroleum.  If Americans have less money to spend and products cost more, its a bad recipe, especially in this environment. If crude oil goes above $70 a barrel for any length of time, I will probably be placing about 50% of my portfolio in cash.
