Hewlett-Packard to buy 3Com in $2.7 billion cash deal

Wow, HP looking to get into someone else’s back yard.  Buying 3com is a big move for Hewlett Packard.  Rather bold and quite the attack lobbed toward Cisco.

Perhaps they see this as a natural evolution.  They have the enterprise customer and it may be natural to serve them with an offering from 3Com.

Deal activity is starting to pick up.  If you are a company with cash, you are in the catbird seat right now.
