This is a great place to view how a business sector is performing. I hope you have all had the guts to get into the market over the past several months because it certainly has been rewarding for those who have.
As of May 11, 2009,
Consumer Services are up YTD 22%, Energy is up 28%, Hardware is up 24%, Industrial materials are up 29%, and Media is up 22%.
I find it hard to believe year to date financial services are up only 6%. That sector has been very positive.
Look at the 5 year returns on energy even with the past 18 months of poor stock performance. I think I’ll put some energy in my portfolio.
